The envelopes I used
It's true, I didn't want to just send six identical envelopes because I didn't want my letters
to look like junk mail. More than that, though: I wanted to be noticed. I figured they'd talk amongst themselves about it.
I sent the letters in:
- A white 6.5in x 3.5in envelope, addressed by my dad
- A white 9.5in x 4in envelope, addressed by my mom
- A brown 12in x 16in envelope, addressed by myself
- A 5 x 3.5 envelope I made out of a picture of Venus de Milo I found in a magazine
(got the idea from an envelope someone sent to me)
- A 21in photo mailing tube, with a mailing label I made with all sorts of goofy bar codes on it
- A box marked CAUTION--MAGNETIC MEDIA--DO NOT X-RAY, and on the inside I taped three
magnets on which I wrote "medium" (which I realized later was a bad idea, sending unshielded magnets through general mail. oops.)
