geez, that poor (HA HA HA) girl

I can’t recall feeling so bad for someone while simultaneously want to laugh my ass off at someone.

It’s a real shame, but man.

Plus: Maury’s a prick. It’s like: “We wanted to see the extent of Judy’s fear of snakes, so we lowered her into a snake pit.”

One almost wonders if something traumatic happened to her involving pickles when she was really young. Perhaps an abusive babysitter molested her with one or something. In which case Maury’s “HERE, CONFRONT IT! PICKLES ALL OVER!” “therapy” is probably extremely psychologically damaging. Something tells me she needs a psychiatrist of sorts more than she needs television pseudo-help.

Anyway, this kind of reminds me of when I was a kid and I used to be afraid of rust on old cars. It just looked so scary.

After laughing my ass off at that clip, I realize that I can’t recall a time I’ve never laughed so hard at someone else’s phobia. Not even during Howard Stern when they teased High-Pitch Eric with a fish (he’s a piscephobe), and he screamed like an elderly woman.

Also, this reminds me of how Dr. Drew (of Loveline) asserts that teenagers will often “fetishize” past traumas in their lives as a coping mechanism (twisted though it may sound).

So if she’s really traumatized by PICKLES……?
