Big Brother/Will Ferrell crossover

Debb’s been following Big Brother, including the online updates where people who watch the realtime feeds post what’s going on. This week they had some competition where the prize was getting to see Talladega Nights, the new Will Ferrell movie. This is an obvious marketing thing to get some exposure for the movie, of course.

According to the feeds, they came out of the viewing room and were bitching that it sucked. And these are people that are starved for any sort of external entertainment at this point, I’m sure. One of the people, I think the one who was bitching about it the most, said “okay, I’m gonna go lie now!” as she went into the diary room to give her sound bites.

Sure enough, when the show aired, they played a clip of her saying “The movie was GREAT!”

Yeah, I just can’t wait for that movie to finally come out!

You know.. so the fucking commercials for it will stop.

I’m sorry, but who told Will Ferrell he was funny? Have they caught him yet?

About the most amusing things he’s done are Vocal Immodulation and Janet Reno, both of which are good for about five minutes of camera time, max.

Now, that Family Guy episode where Stewie flies to Hollywood to punch out Will Ferrell for doing Bewitched… *That* was funny.

BTW, these alleged realtime feeds from Big Brother: Did anyone capture them? Juxtaposing “It sucked,” with the broadcast, “It’s great,” might make a good clip for YouTube…

Dude, are you trying to make me cry? Is that it? Well if you are then mission accomplished oh bloodee blooahoodehoo

No, but seriously, it’s a valid point. I do need an occasional reminder to get my crap up again. Though actually yesterday I was working on a centralized RSS thing for myself, which I hope I’ll be able to extend out to using for things on my site in general. One of my major issues is infrequent updates, so having some predictable way of being able to see those updates would probably be good.

I really don’t understand how that film could gross over forty bloody million dollars in its opening weekend. How could so many people possibly get suckered into seeing that collection of drivel?

Eh, a certain amount of people will go see a movie opening weekend if it’s sufficiently hyped, no matter what it is. It’s probably why a lot of summer blockbusters suck; no reason to pay for a script if positive reinforcement says you don’t have to.
