    Two things that really irritate me about this:
    1) The assumption that because he doesn’t believe in God, he cannot take an oath or abide by the rule of law, which is really scary since it means a 2000 year old collection of scribbling is all that’s keeping religious folks from total lawlessness.
    2) “Democrat” is not an adjective.

    How can one afirm and still say “so help me God”? The whole point of affirming is because some people can’t swear to God, either because they don’t believe or their particular sect forbids it (such as Quakers)
