Goddamn…Olbermann on fire, again
Crooks and Liars » Countdown Special Comment: Death of Habeas Corpus: “Your words are lies, Sir.”
This managed to scare me more than any claim of nuculur terrurist threat that I can recall.

Go, man, Go!
Since I don’t watch T.V. anymore, I have to ask, “Does anyone watch these?”

Eh, he’s preaching to the choir, but it’s cathartic to hear it. But as cathartic as it is, lately I’ve been coming to feel like he’s selling fear and anger as much as any of the right-wingers. Not that I want Mr. Rogers, but he could say what he’s saying in half the time to good effect.

You mean he’s articulating anger and hurling invective, but from the left? This I call a good thing.
More to the point, he’s doing it using relevant examples from history (and in his less-thoughtful moments, the Twilight Zone). He’s not providing a contextless stream of rage, he’s made an argument about just how bad the administration is by showing other temporary failings of America’s committement to freedom.
The chattering class of the left has spent nearly five years trying to appear calm. It didn’t work. And if their anger is backed up by this much intelligence and history, how is that bad?
But yeah, maybe a little overlong.

Twilight Zone?
You mean his reference to aliens?
October 21st, 2006 13:40
Not this one, he had a previous special comment that had a kinda clunky Twilight Zone reference.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that his “special comments” are running about 10 minutes long now. I don’t mind shortening the rest of the show to make up for it but it gets tiring after a while. He should continue to be angry and emphatic, but he needs to say what he has to say quickly enough that people don’t start zoning out in the middle of it.

Huh, I wasn’t paying attention.
