Yeah, if you can’t take the heat, get out of your seat of power. To be fair, roughly 2/3rds of the Republican party probably mashed their foreheads in their hands when they heard Kingston say that. The problem is that all the loud ones are in the other 1/3rd.

I’m surprised these politicians don’t live in DC. I mean, when I got a new job on the other side of the country a few months ago, I moved there, and I took my wife with me. Would my employer be ok with me flying off every week to visit my parents? Hell no!

I also like that he says “could care less”. I wonder how much less they could care? This implies that he’s admitting that they do, in fact, care - at least on some level - because it’s possible that they could care less.

I can be pretty pedantic myself, but that one doesn’t bug me at all. “I couldn’t care less” is a very flat, direct statement. “I could care less” typically carries a more ironic tone, simply a shortening of “as if I could care less”.

Gawain’s right. The people who bitch about “could care less” are the people who just have to have the adverb at the end: “he said sarcastically.” I personally like my writers to assume I can handle nuance and inference.
