New Dem Rule Hits Old Dem Dealer
Republicans abuse process for some time, Dems get elected and try to cut that shit out…and Murtha’s too old school to get the memo.
My political interest is pretty much through the lens of the Iraq War, so this is an unfortunate revelation about Murtha for me. I gotta remember that the Democrats aren’t the Good Guys, but the Not-Necessarily-As-Bad Guys.

I fear the corruption and ethics issues ailing both parties is going to lead to even more voter apathy. Heck - one reason the Repubs got bitchslapped in the last election was because of the constant ethics charges against them. And now people are going to see the Dems do the same thing.
If I were a cynic, I’d say the worst case scenario is that there will be a day when only the extremists come out to vote. And I fear there are many more voting extremists on the right than on the left.

Well, Murtha’s problem here is going with Business As Usual. If I had to decide between this sort of corruption, or the justice-obstructing, cesspool-wallowing, child-molesting type, I’d probably take the former.
I mean, yeah, the Democrats have problems. I don’t know this, but weren’t there periods where they held all three branches of government in the last 40 years as well? And the corruption was nothing, nothing like what we’ve seen uncovered in the last couple years.
I think we’ll see voter apathy if there are those who try to push “all politicians are the same” to excuse Republican behavior in the last five years. If that were true, then this country would’ve been in the shitbucket long ago.
