I can verify: Aum Mani Padme Hum (if anyone wants the potentially enlightening explanation, email away!), to be really correctical about it. I kinda like this one, though, but it makes me feel strangely … edgy. BTW, in days of yore, I was known in certain circuses (circusi?) as Vice Pope Doug. Yep: “gone Eastern”.

I remember after the typhoon in the Indian Ocean, some Buddhist monks came into this restaurant where I eating, asking for donations to help the victims. I didn’t give them any money, because I thought it was suspcious they were in a chicken place. In retrospect, I regret my lack of charity.

BTW, it’s actually “Om MANI padme HUM” to be technically acurate. It’s said the entire Dharma is revealed in this mantra…which ain’t bad for six syllables!

Imagine the captions we could write for that one. OK it’s official, you’re no longer allowed to travel without a camera or at minimum, a cell phone with a camera feature.
