I think twitter is stupid. Twitter is the new beating your chest while waving a tree branch around to let the world know you’re there. I bet if you give Koko, the gorilla, a twitter account; you would not be able to tell the difference between her posts and anyone else on twitter’s posts.

twitter is just a big spam box
who the hell has time to deal with it? My box trap is filled with followers that I have no freaking idea who they are, and every single one that I bothered to check out of curiosity might as well be spamming my email for all the good that twitter is
the stuff in my spam filter from facebook have all been long lost friends
twitter is boring confused and will soon fizzle….

with twitter you can reduce your exposure to verbal masturbation, have a conversation and share stories/web items. I really do think the era of the personal blog for everyone has peaked.

The Twitter 140 character limit is the SMS limit (cell texting). If they went above that, the tweets couldn’t be sent over SMS.

I have a Twitter account, but I’m not a big fan. Facebook, however, is pretty cool. I’ve definitely been able to make better connections with people that I might have only seen occasionally in “real” life.

Greg, you could make an A1-AAA application for Facebook and probably make a fortune. ;)

I don’t even bother with Twitter. Trendy or not, I can’t think of one damn use that I have for it. I have a Myspace and a Facebook, neither of which do much for me. There was a time when it was cool to get in contact from many long-lost old friends and classmates, but after that initial “Hey! How’ve you been?”, it just goes nowhere.

The only experience I had with Twitter was recently when Ashton Kutcher and CNN were competing to be the first one with a million followers. I would never vote for either of them, but I did watch as a group of internet hooligans made a tasteless profile that actually almost came close to catching up to them:

They had up to about 300,000 followers — many of which were fake accounts created with scripts. After Ashton won the contest, Twitter caught on to the bogus competitor. Ever since, they’ve been deleting all those fake users… one at a time. They still have about 78,000 to go as I write this.

Count me in for the get off my lawn crowd. I find the practice of website creators featuring their tweets on their websites especially annoying. I love Lore, but yesterday I did not need to know that he likes sammiches (sic). If I wanted to read those, I would have subscribed to the feed. Makes me wish I could beat them all with my cane.

Oh! also, the pics on fb work better –/I/ think– then myspace. Though the resizing drives me crazy. I wanted the pic of my Anthropology teacher to be bigger than any reasonable screen could accommodate, he’s just that awesome.
