Finally, some tech happiness

I’ve had a massive programmer’s block over the last three weeks, but finally I got somewhere and the biggest part of my admin program is done. Which is good, because my brain decided if I didn’t get this part done over the weekend, I was going to have to draw comics of myself explaining the situation until I did get it done, and none of us would want that.

I can’t show it to you as it exists, but I wanna show it off a bit so here are a few screencaps of it in “action”. The questions editor would be even harder to illustrate this way, and anyway I got six screencaps done and got bored, so that’s it. Though I should probably figure out some way of doing a video cap.

Though now that I’ve finally been able to schedule them, I learn that I have enough comics to update until about August 16, which is a week under six months. Which means that since I’ve started in the beginning of January, I’ve only lost one week’s worth of backlog.

Which is pretty cool, but I realized I have to start scheduling comics I’m currently drawing to the end of the queue, because otherwise I’m just going to push older ones back farther and farther until I’m embarrassed to publish them.

I don’t consider myself a UX/Interface expert, but I really like what you’ve done. It’s look straightforward and not any more complex than it has to be. Nice work.

It’s kind of interesting to see the screen shots of the administrative tool you created for yourself.

I agree with Swifty. Looks nice, and straightforward.

    Neat! Looks super-useful.

Also, re: Figure 8: I love these “POLL PROVES PEOPLE ARE STUPID!” articles that don’t give anything on how the poll was run, how many people were polled, under what circumstances, etc.

Me too, but that poll’s not one of them, since the link‘s right there.

…true. But the point is… that I should maybe read these things more closely before making comments. >>

(The demographic distribution is good, but 800 is an awfully small sample size.)

Hmmm… on the odd chance you’re wondering why nobody is submitting questions for Scribs, I think it’s broken. It always tells me that what I’ve typed isn’t a question, despite having filled in all three fields and ensured my sentence has proper grammar and punctuation.

Huh. What browser? I’ve been getting questions, so I didn’t know it wasn’t working for some people.

    Oof.. missed the response.

I’m using Google’s Chrome. I suspect if you get it working in Firefox it’ll work in Chrome.

For my own site, I generally only test in firefox, which is why this is odd.

I just tried it again today, using Chrome, but I couldn’t enter my question. I had to switch to IE.

    Now I feel dirty.
